Help finding a video, or better yet, a videographer(?)

Yo SD, can one of you brilliant teeming millions help me find some videos? Back in the early 2000s, maybe even as late as 2010, there was a person who made videos for YouTube (?) that seemed to be a symptom of their mental health. They made a bunch of videos and they were somewhat viral; I know we discussed them on this message board. As I remember it, all the videos they made involved a main “topic”, like a cat, or a bus, or some other object which would then divide and grow legs or mutate as the they marched across the screen like a side scrolling video game. The one I am trying to find had cats as the main “topic” that was mutating. I believe all the videos had music and would last for 2-4 minutes as the scenes/objects mutated like kaleidoscopes as they marched across the screen to music. I can’t remember if the objects were cartoons or modified pictures. The videos were amateurish compared to what people are doing today, it was 2005 or so after all. This “videographer” was a relatively famous part of the early internet. Does this ring a bell with anybody?

Are you possibly talking about Welcome to Kitty City by cyriak?

His other videos are similar:

I was unaware of the mental health connection, though. Doesn’t everybody imagine cats dividing into busses?

You are the bomb! Cyriak; how could I have forgotten.

Wow, Kitty City came out in 2011. I would have sworn it was at least 5 years earlier.

Looking at some of the newer work, maybe there is not a mental health connection. But that old stuff is wack. Has time cube written all over it.

It’s certainly weird, but no weirder than anything Bill Plympton made, I think.

Heh! I’ve been watching that video several times a year, every year, for like the last two decades… it’s just nice to relax to. As a bonus, it also confuses our cat a bit :joy_cat:

I also think it came out quite a bit before 2011… I remember it being a Flash animation or something. Maybe 2011 is just when it made it onto YouTube?
