Help-Gaelic Name for Food?

My Irish grandmother used to make something which she called a Gaelic name-I don’t know how it was spelled, but it sounded like “prockeen gowl”.
What it was was leftover boiled, cabbage, turnip, potatoes, fried with bacon (she would fry the bacon strips first, remove them, then fry the vegetables in the bacon fat).
It was obviously a way to get a cheap meal out of leftovers-does the name mean anything?
