This is easy to do with predictive software. I use it with Microsloth at work to avoid having to continually type out things like, “Montana Government Bureaucracy Office, Division of Needless Redundancy”.
As soon as I type, "Montana Gov " the software gives me the option to press, “Enter” to fill in the rest of the phrase.
Just a thought. IF I was designing software for someone like this to use to type with their eyes, I would certainly put in a lot of shortcuts and have it do autocomplete like microsoft word does…So you hit a couple of letters and it puts in an entire word or phrase. That said, it would explain why he used the whole name, being that it was stored in the computer that way. That was one of the things I found more realistic about the letter, Your average writer would not go to the trouble to type out the whole name most of the time, but if the proggy put it in for him, it would take more effort to shorten it.
Go read all of the thread that’s linked above. It’s several days old and has much more info. Whatever the truth might be, there are some real people’s names involved.
It still strikes me as somewhat fantastic.
As far as the think ahead software goes, I notice that the writer of the original article switches back and forth from the doctor’s full name to just Dr Lagro.
Darn you guys for sucking up my afternoon. I’ve spent nearly an hour reading the original thread. I, too, am amazed at how openly the members of the Christian Debate board accepted this post and the user’s story. Had that shown up here, I have a feeling it would have been torn to pieces in a matter of hours.
Whether the actual OP is true or not, it’s still creepy.
Here’s another thing I noticed reading this. This is an MSN message board. That mean “Quad” should have a Passport account. Yet he is not receiving emails? If he can get to this message board, he can get to Hotmail.
If he’s intelligent enough for Stephen Hawking to correspond with, he should be intelligent enough to sign up for a free email account. My BS meter is going off.
Nope. I meant “going badly for someone” to mean that it could be true, and the quadrepleigic isn’t doing too well, or that it’s false, and the wrongly-accused doctor is in for some rough times ahead. I’m pretty skeptical of the story myself.
Well, imagine that! Today (15 JulyI I got a reply from the local police.
I don’t feel comfortable pasting his e-mail here, in truth it didn’t say much. Legal stuff I suppose.
Anyway, my contact at the Mount Shasta Police Department informs me that Mr. Wallace (the patient) had a hearing in front of a judge at the Mercy Hospital in which he stated all his accusations.
They were ruled to be unfounded.
He has been transfered elsewhere.
(end of official stuff, now my deductions)
-Hearing at a hosptial?
–There is in fact a patient named Wallace,
–He must be somewhat unable to move since the judge came to him,
-He did have a grudge against a doctor. He carried it fairly far.
