Can you please all help here?? Ongoing discussion between myself and S.O.

He’s got 3 oscilloscopes! 3! He’s about to acquire number 4.
How many would be considered evil/bad/a fetish/going over the limit. They’re:

  1. 20 Mhz Analogue - used never
  2. 20 Mhz Analogue - digital storage - used twice
  3. 100 Mhz Analogue - phosphor storage - used several times.
    about to have
  4. 400Mhz digital

So how many should a person have?? Should I say " sell the other 3 on ebay" or should i not ??

His argument is “I need the digital one and the 100Mhz analogue one”
My argument is space.

My problem is " There is no space left in the house, they are sitting in the hall"!

Women will understand me, i hope! But men will agree what will we do.

Does he need them professionally? My SO has at least 3/4, but he fixes electronic gear for a living, so it makes sense.

Oscilloscopes…

You can never have to much electronics. Keep 'em all - get more later. If he’s really lucky he can find a broken one or two of the same model for “spare parts”.

I would say the two 20s can probably go. I can see needing both the 100 and the 400 for some things. If you can talk him into that, you gain ground on him–there’ll be one less scope in the place.

Of course, I wouldn’t get rid of any of them, but I’m a serious packrat. I have electronic widgets I built when I was a kid stored around here somewhere.
