Help: Hyperlinks embedded in my e-mail bring up blank pages

I’ve read through the helpful sticky above, but can’t find a discussion re this.

A few months ago, I installed Mozilla as my browswer. For various reasons, I uninstalled it weeks later. I then changed my internet settings to launch a blank page as my home page because it took so long for Yahoo to download.

Now, undoubtedly because I screwed up something with all my fiddling, I cannot use the hyperlinks which come embedded in my e-mails. It launches Explorer but has nothing in the address field. At times I can circumvent this by right clicking and copying the target into the blank Explorer field. Other times I am not given the option to copy target and I’m screwed. I can see the address in my task bar, but I cannot copy it.

Any ideas of what I’ve done to screw my computer up and, better yet, how I can solve it?

It could be this:

I tried the fixes, larsenmtl, but it didn’t help. However, I went to Yahoo and typed in “hyerlinks not working” and voila! It linked to some web page and I found my answer.

FYI, I had to go to my Control Panel, Internet Options, Programs, Reset Web Settings (to the IE defaults).

Thanks, as always, for your time and expertise.
