Help!! I Can't Stop Giving People and Pets Nicknames!

I am addicted to giving nicknames to people. I can’t call someone by the same name for more than a couple of months or I get bored. Is there a word for this compulsion? It’s really out of control. I even do it to my cats. Here are some examples.

Cat’s Real Name: Brunswick

Cat’s Nicknames: Brunsley, Broastly, Bristly, Brownsley, Brawnsley, Charles, Charleston P. Cat, Charleston Q. Cat, Chorles, Chawls

Cat’s Real Name: Jooky

Cat’s Nicknames: Jookums,Joogly, Choogly, Poogly, Pooky, Puggly, Puggums, Pugglums, Puggly-Cat

Those are just some of the less embarrassing ones. I am a heterosexual male, for Christ’s sake. I won’t even tell you what I call my kids.

Hee. No matter what a pet’s name really is, I call it Buddy. So I guess I have the opposite problem. My hypothetical pet would be a pug bamed Pembleton, but I know it would end up being Pembleton “Buddy” Mylastname.
