Help ID A Book (based on vague memory of cover art)

Hey all, if anybody can help me with this, it’ll be the dope.

Just recently, I flashed on a memory of an SF or Fantasy paperback I read back in the '80s and it’s been bugging me ever since. I can’t remember anything about it except that it was a reproduction of Napoleon Crossing the Alps except it wasn’t Napoleon but a teddy bear dressed as Napoleon.

I’ve tried several google searches but I only seem to get references to that toy bear in “Blade Runner” and, once, a reference to Paddington Bear(??). Anyway, I’m beginning to wonder if my memory has short-circuited (it wouldn’t be the first time).

Anybody have any ideas?

Ha! My Google-Fu is strong today!

For reference, here’s what I searched on: “science fiction teddy bear napoleon.” Second match.

Hokas Pokas! by Paul Anderson and Gordon R. Dickson

Was there a teddy bear in Blade Runner? Are you sure you’re not thinking of Super Toys Last All Summer Long (Brian Aldiss)?

Sheesh, that was fast! I swear to god I searched and searched. Tried all sorts of variants of teddy bear and Napoleon and horse, but I never thought to add “science fiction” :smack:

I remember really enjoying it as a young teen and I wonder if it’s worth re-reading. Of course I thought Piers Anthony was a genius back then so maybe I’m better off leaving it to the mists of time.

valleyofthedolls, yes, there is a teddy bear dressed as Napoleon in “Blade Runner”. It was one of JF Sebastian’s little genetic toys.
