We were listening to Shakira’s “Estoy Aqui” in Spanish class today, and it bugged the heck out of me, because I know there’s a (relatively recent) song in English with a tune that’s incredibly similar if not identical. Does anyone know what that English song might be?

I just listened to it…It’s definitely to the tune of something in English. Something with a female singer. Unfortunately, who it is escapes me 
I’m not sure it’s all that recent though. (Why does my brain want it to be about a groovy kind of love? That was by a guy, wasn’t it?)
I thought maybe it was a version of an existing song, put into Spanish, but the lyrics aren’t a direct translation of anything I recognize if it is.
My coworker says it’s the Pretenders “I’ll Stand By You”.
I’ve not heard either.
