Help id this wacky action flick.

I was talking to a co-worker the other day, when I remembered this scene from some action flick. I believe it was one of those “genetically engineered good-guy being hunted by superior genetically engineered bad-guy” kinda flicks, and quite possible of Hong Kong or Japanese origin. Anyway, the scene is this:

The two are on opposite sides of a counter/wall/something. They each have two guns, they whip them out, run sideways shooting at one another, and here’s the kicker:

every bullet they fire connects in mid air.

Sound familiar to anyone?

Well, it sounds like a scene in the style of The Matrix. Any chance it was that Jet Li movie, The One? (I haven’t seen it, but the previews always made it look pretty much like a copy of The Matrix).

No, it wasn’t the one. I’ve seen it and don’t remember a scene like that in the movie.
