Help identify an alt country male singer by my poor description of his songs!

American, sounds southern. Anyone have it yet? Should I go on?
I heard this album almost 2 years ago but don’t know how old it was then.
The song I’m looking for was an uptempo shuffle heavily featuring a picked telecaster by the sound. (I know I’m not really narrowing it down yet).
It was a story song of him in the army/marines, screwing up (drugs?) and yet being chosen to be an astronaut or jet pilot or something special anyway. I think the song may have been the name of the ship/mission/plane.
Another song on the album was a duet with a woman where they meet in a bar and throw flirty insults at each other.
And to get down to fine detail, I think I remember the US flag featuring on the cover somehow!
It come on Spotify after I’d been listening to Ry Cooder, Wilko, Ryan Adams and Prince, so maybe that will get you in the right area.
I’ve been searching websites and playlists without any luck, so I’m asking Dopers to ease my worried mind.
Thanks!

Maybe something by John Prine? He has, I think, 2 albums of duets with different women singers.

Kmag-yoyo
By Hayes Carll.

ETA Hayes is on the cover in an American flag sweater.

The other song is ‘Another like you’
A song purportedly to be about James Carvill and his Republican wife meeting. (Can’t remember her name)

KMAG-YOYO is an acronym for ‘kiss my ass guys-you’re on your own’
Military thing.

Nailed it - thanks Beckdawrek! I would not have remembered ‘Hayes Carll’ in forever!

Yay! I actually knew an answer!

I love Hayes.

Pump It Up, anyone?

Not to mention Too Much Monkey Business, Subterranean Homesick Blues, etc. etc…
