Help identify famous custody case

I have a vague recollection of a sensational custody case from about 10-15 years ago in which a court ordered a mother to allow her daughter to have contact with the father. The mother, claiming that the father had abused the daughter (charges that the court found unsupported), had the daughter spirited away (possibly to Australia or New Zealand or somewhere) and was kept jailed in contempt of court until the court just gave up and let her out. The mother (who, I believe, might have been a physician) was also a law student at Georgetown University.

Can anyone remember the specifics of this case, particularly the names of the people involved? And does anyone know what eventually happened?

Try googling:

Elizabeth Morgan custody

You’re thinking of the Elizabeth Morgan case, in which she accused her husband, Eric Foretich (sp?) of molesting their daughter. Her daughter has returned to the U.S., and is no longer a minor. She has no contact with her father.
