Help identify this early 90's platform game

Oh lord, longer ago than i care to think of, at least 15 years and where did they go, a friend of mine had an old Amiga. Early 90’s version, no idea what the model was i’m afraid. I was able to borrow it from him in term-time when he went away to college. Looking back i’ve no idea why he didn’t take it with him, but great for me. Amongst others i worked my way through all the all Gold Box DnD games, Good times :D.
My favourite game however was a arcade platform game. 2D obviously, you played a space marine type who had to blast through a horde of enemies and bosses using a variety of weapons and power ups and i cannot for the life of me remember what it was called. I think the title was some combination of uh space, marine, commando. I think. Yep, not very helpful. There was however one game mechanic which anyone who played the game will instantly remember. You had a flamethrower as a secondary weapon. When activated your character would freeze in place and instead the joystick would now control the direction of the flameburst which you could swing 360 around you. Hopefully that’ll be enough to identify it.

Astro Marine Corps?

Nope, went and found a video of Astro Marine Corps on youtube. That’s not the one. Thanks anyway

Only game I can think of for the Amiga with a flamethrower with that gameplay mechanic would be one of the Turrican games (1, 2, or 3), but your ideas of the game name made me think it had an off chance at being AMC.

Turrican? Sounds familiar

Checks youtube.

Yes! Turrican 2 to be precise.

As soon as i loaded the t2 video the music started and Wham! Instant flashback.

`Thanks Student Driver i guess i must havebeen conflating the character you play with the name of the game.

Off to look for stuff the mods get very uptight about discussing on-line.

Cheers
