Hello all, long time lurker, first time poster here. Just a quick favor to ask y’all:
My boyfriend says he used to have this western village toy, with buildings made out of cardboard or some similarly thick paper of some sort. Anyway, this set came with little wood pieces about half the size of a popsicle stick, and he would glue them to the cardboard buildings to make a town. Has anyone else ever seen these? Bonus points if you can direct me to somewhere to purchase one for him! Thanks!
It’s a bit vague, there were lots of Wild West toys to assemble over the decades. You’d probably be most successful if you looked under “Papercraft” as you’ll get results like this or this.
Thank you for the replies. Sorry about the vagueness, I’ll try to elaborate a little. He says it has these little thin strips of wood that he would cut with the little plastic “power saw” that came with the kit. After cutting them to size, he would glue them to the paper buildings. Supposedly it either came in a yellow box, or the paper buildings were yellow (all he remembers is something was yellow).
Mostly what he remembered was the saw. It was fully encased in plastic, with a little slot that you could only fit a strip of the wood in to be cut. On one end of the slot, there was a small circular hole so you could cut the tiny dowels that came with it as well. He says he had to either pump it or squeeze it a few times to get the saw to cut.
Also, now I’m getting word that there was a little sander that came with it as well, with the same pump/squeeze motion required to operate.
I’ve googled and searched my poor little heart out looking for this thing. Perhaps you friendly people with better googling skills than I can assist?
