Many years ago I read it in Russian, it was one big Communist science fiction propaganda story but I was too young to understand that back than.
The story line is something like this:
The world is on the verge of a great war, communist revolution, or something along those lines. A bunch of fat, evil, lazy capitalists together with a group of strong, hard working, happy communist proletariats are leaving Earth together on a space ship to Venus.
They almost lose the ship during landing, the atmosphere is breathable, there are lots of animals, some nasty and some eatable. Everyone leave the ship, try to live in caves or something, but eventually the two groups dissagree on something and split, with the capitalists trying to live off the land, sort of, and the commies trying to fix the ship and return to Earth.
The capitalists degrade into barbarism, a priest whose part of the group renounces his Christian god saying something like “every planet has it’s own god”.
Eventually the commies fix the ship and leave to Earth while leaving the capitalists behind fighting with each other.
The captain’s name was Zander, and the main charachter is a young hero commie who, on their way back to Earth(and it’s the end of the book) is allowed to pilot the ship and he’s all happy about the radio tranmissions he’s receiving telling about the success of the revolution and the new Communist order in the world.
Does it ring any bells? I dont know what the name of the book was, and who wrote it. It will be really nice to find and reread it, now that i’m no longer a 10 year old.
