Help! It's January And I Still Have Christmas Songs Poppling In My Head!

I just had to shake loose Burl Ives singing Have A Holly Jolly Christmas in my head…and it is going on February already!
Yesterday, for no reason, Jingle Bell Rock just started playing away in my brain.
Last week I had a couple of close calls with Chestnuts Roasting.

Help. How can I stop this?! Is this a curable illness?

I like the sound of the word “poppling”…but obviously I meant, “popping up”.

Replace them with TV Theme songs:

Here’s the story
of a lovely lady
who was bringing up three very lovely girls…

or bad Disney songs

It’s a world of laughter, a world of tears…

ai, you’re not alone. Today I found myself walking down the street singing (out loud, no less) Hark the Herald Angels Sing.

I just adore a penthouse view
darling I love you
but give me Park Avenue…

Thank goodness my sister’s not around anymore to sing Christmas carols year-round almost anywhere just to bug me. As it is, the Sunday after Christmas, the worship leader at my church for that day chose a couple of Chirstmas carols. AAAAARRRGGGHH!! I didn’t sing when it came time for the carols… luckily, they’re out of my head now. (though they were percolating about in my head for a couple of days into the new year… aiya!)

I usually have to deal with “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” in my head until February every year…and sometimes March!
