So for the past ten years, I’ve had facial hair more or less like this.
I recently changed hairstyles, to a shorter and straighter cut, which I don’t have a picture of, but I’m pondering that I should also change my beard. I’ve been spending the past two months proving to my local crowd’s satisfaction that it grows too unevenly for me to ever really look like ZZ Top.
So, in a move that will surely have no negative consequences whatsoever, I turn to the dope for opinions–what facial hair styles would be (more) flattering on me?
Clean-shaven is probably not an option, my wife will veto the concept.
That’s a perfectly nice beard. It looks a lot like mine when I trim it that short. Have you ever let it grow out for a couple months (while keeping the neckline groomed)? The results are often pleasantly surprising. A lot of guys judge and trim their beards too quickly - not really giving them a chance to grow out. I don’t mean ZZ Top territory. There’s a large gap between a still-professional and groomed beard to circus beard.
Really, though, if you’re happy with it now, it does look nice. Don’t be tempted to go the 90s goatee route while looking for a change of pace. I can’t believe that I’m-the-cool-office-manager-style won’t fade away.
