Hair down, wearing the cool hat that kid swiped from you.
Down, and with a 3/4 profile. If you can get that in time.
Hair up. Your face looks better in that one.
I’d say up, but in a looser, less fluffy style.
And I agree, you have lovely eyes.
Hair down.
You say you don’t like a smiling pic, but shouldn’t you let us be the judge? I liked the smiling pic of you with the turkey child.
Congrats on the award!
Since you brought up the chipmunk look, I think it’s accented with your hair down photo. A little too much.
That’s not a complaint (I don’t want to give someone a neurosis about having chipmunk face). My wife has a little chipmunk thing going, too. You have a cute face. My reaction when I saw the hair down, however, was that it was too chipmunky.
(I didn’t see your post until after my last post).
I say use picture number one in the album and photoshop (crop) out the adorable turkey kid. You look mahvelous! I don’t see no chubby cheeks! Just a gorgeous smile and sparkling eyes!
Two comments–When did your hair get that long, and when did Joey get that old? Time is slipping away from me.
I say down, definitely, and smile, for the love of all that’s holy.
At an award function like this, everybody’s going to look at the picture and say “I wonder why she’s not smiling.” Nobody ever says, “Oooh, she shouldn’t have smiled.”
As the lucky husband here, I thought I should chime in. I’m the one to blame for the crappy nature of the photos- we sort of threw it all together. I actually do some photography for work, but it’s mostly landscape/ newspaper worthy stuff…these were taken without my usual equipment.
That said:

yes, she does need to smile more in pictures. I tried to get her to…she didn’t listen to me.

I like her hair down as well. Without seeing it in 3d, you can’t tell that she has beautiful long hair when it’s up- it just looks like a cap of curls. I’m not going to say anything about how old she looks either way, thank you.
I appreciate the input from everyone as well. I think she’s gorgeous, but she’s long since stopped listening to me. And suffice it to say that she doesn’t really think much of my sense of style (nor should she, really).
My perfect picture of her is actually a 3/4 view from the back, her chin raised, exposing her neck, her hair cascading down to the small of her back, eyes closed, lips barely parted…
…
…
what were we talking about again?
Aw, Stonebow, that’s so cute!!! FaerieBeth, I agree with others that you should smile. That first picture of you is really cute and the informal setting makes you look natural. I bet you will look more like yourself if you smile. Like this:
Hair down, no question.
Well, it was too late to take new pictures with a smile, but I will take the advice to heart for future photographs. They will take my picture again on the night of the banquet, and that picture will go on the wall at my school (and at the district office  )
So general consensus is that I should wear my hair down and smile that night? Check.
Draelin, I think the last time I really cut my hair was when we were members at Pacific Pages, so…yeah, it’s had a while to grow. Joey is getting big! His favorite pastime now is to heckle the sample ladies in Wal-Mart for food- “Hello, Old Lady! Is the food ready?”
