I have a random assortment of liquor but no creative ideas on how to use it.
In the cabinet:
Vodka
Bourbon
Brandy
Chambord
Frangelico
Kahlua
B&B
Grappa
Sour Apple
Dry Vermouth
I haven’t been to the store in awhile, so the only mixers on hand are tap water and tomato juice. Please help me mix a drink other than bourbon and water or a plain martini (no olives by the way) or a Bloody Mary.
I’ll need to see your ID card before I answer.
Pour everything into one big glass and chug.
Garnish with a cocktail umbrella. Cocktail umbrellas are always necessary.
Mix the vodka and Kahlua for a black russian. If you have milk, you can add some for a white russian. Very tasty.
If you have ice cream you can mix equal parts brandy and frangelico, a lare scoop of vanilla ice cream, a couple ice cubes and toss it in a blender.
It’s been too many years since I drank, and when I did, I generally liked my liquour straight and not in mixes. White russians were the exception. Frangelico can be enjoyed alone. God, I loved that stuff - there was a drink that a friend enjoyed that was that and, I want to say Kahlua, but I don’t remember.
Ugh. All that and the Kahlua?? Aim for the bucket on the side of the bed. Less to clean up in the morning.
Get 32 shotglasses, some tape, and a friend. Put tape around 16 of the glasses. Fill 8 taped glasses and 8 untaped glasses with the lowest alcohol by volume booze. Fill two per side with the three next most alcoholic, then one per side with the two hardest ones you got.
Then play chess.
Whenever you take a piece, chug it. That way the winner is always at a handicap.
Webtender has a thing where you select what you have and they tell you what you can make with it (and you can get recipes for drinks with 1, 2, or 3 things you don’t have, too, if you’re in the mood to go to the store).
The Gauntlet.
10 beers, 10 different shots, 4 hours.
Vodka + sour apple = Appletini. Pretty good actually. I’d leave out the vermouth.
You know you’re getting on in years when you’re positively ecstatic when someone asks you for ID. I patronize this one little store regularly because the cashier will demand ID and then make a big dramatic gesture of, “No! You could not possibly be that age!” Cheers me right up!
Mauvaise’s brandy and Frangelico milkshake sounds really good! And I had forgotten about Appletinis. I think that will be my after-work-leaving-for-vacation-in-the-morning drink tonight. Thanks!
All that would make one crazy pousse-café.
