I have a rather interesting job…most minutes of the day are spent translating documents from Japanese to English, or organizing some sort of event or what-have-you…but, like most jobs, there is the down time. Time where there is literally nothing else to do but stare at the computer screen!
On days like these I usually revert to checking email 6 times an hour, merely for the sake of actually clicking a mouse button. But that can only be done so many times before one loses one’s mind.
I am in the fortunate position of having my own laptop computer connected to the internet at killer high speed, which means I am free to surf the Web. But I have exhausted the Net…or so it may seem. Thank God for the Straight Dope, which got me through May and most of June. But now that it is completely tapped I have nowhere else to go!
Does anybody have any REALLY REALLY GOOD links in their Favorites/Bookmark menu? I need more Internet resources! I need places to go! I need more stimulation than the hum-drum of the fluorescent office lights keeping me on the verge of sleep!
I can’t play music or sound because I am in a big office, and games would probably be shunned upon. But anything else, be it funny, witty, intelligent, interesting…help me! New hobbies, cool online stores…there must be other places to go. How do you get through your surfing days? Guide me to the light!!!
