I was listening to an oldies radio station-they played a song that I had heard before, but they never announced the the name of the song, nor the artist. One of the verses began with “Mantizell, when violins played”-that’s all i remember. does anybody know what it might be? My Google search yielded nothing.
Googling “Mademoiselle, when violins played” doesn’t help either. Frank Sinatra’s “Mamselle” may be it, though.
I think you’ve got the wrong lyrics, or it almost certainly would come up in a search. Even discounting “Mantizell”, which sounds like nonsense (doesn’t produce a single hit either), a search on “when violins played” doesn’t appear to include any song lyrics.
Long shot guess, but could it be “Sway” (actually from 1953), which has the lyrics “When we sway…” - possibly what you heard as “Mantizell” - followed shortly by “I can hear the sound of violins” ?
Thanks, it was “Mamsell”.
