Help me find a lemon drop recipe

I forgot where I saw it, but it involved champagne/sparkling wine and fresh lemons. Anyone else see it-- or just have a good recipe (everything I Google seems to be the standard vodka/sours mix combo)?

A lemon drop doesn’t have champagne in it.

Are you maybe thinking of a French 75?

2 oz gin
1 oz fresh lemon juice
A sugarcube’s worth of simple syrup

Shake & strain into a champagne flute.

Fill with champage.

Twist of lemon.

I can’t check at the moment, but might you have seen it in this month’s Living (Martha Stewart)? I think I remember seeing a similar recipe in there. I love a really good vodka lemon drop “martini”, but they are seldom really good. Mostly, they taste like lighter fluid and I wake up with a splitting headache. The champagne version might be nice. If it turns out the recipe’s in there, I’ll post it for you.

Very possible. I was looking at… a friend’s copy. Will check!

Here’s the recipe from her website. Might it be the same?

It wasn’t in this month’s Martha Stewart. Crap. Maybe it was last month…or one of the other 15 similar magazines I get…
:frowning:

Here’s a Lemon Drop Champagne recipe that sounds like what you’re talking about.

That sounds like the one I remember…was I watching Sandra Lee? ::shudder::

This Lemon Mimosa recipe uses fresh lemon juice:

Lemon Mimosa

Drop 1/2 oz. sugar syrup and the juice of one whole lemon
into a white wine glass.
Drop in half the lemon and top with 4 oz. champagne
