the premise is that a mom repeatedly comes into her son’s room and her kid’s goofing off but switches windows RIGHT before she comes in to a Word document. she thinks that he’s hard at work but in reality he’s IMing, facebooking, playing video games, etc.
is this floating out on the interwebz somewhere?
has anyone at least seen this commercial?

I think I’ve seen something like what you’re talking about. If it’s the same one, it’s not a PSA, it’s an ad. The premise is that the [web browser, whatever] is so fast he can get all his homework done and still have time to goof off. I’m trying to think of what it’s selling. At the end, mom sticks her head in again and says “Say hi to all your friends! [with whom you’ve been chatting instead of studying]”
I know the one you mean; it’s about how parents need to monitor their kids online and in general. The boy is supposedly plugging away at a paper but is really goofing off, then later the mom stops by again and says something like, “Are you still at it? Do you need a break?” Kid wearily nods his head, back to the door; she leaves and doesn’t see that he was listening to loud music on headphones and was merely bobbing his head to that.
