Once again I turn to the wisdom of the Dope.
I’m looking for an abscure 1980s song. I recorded it off CFNY sometime before 1987; I remember listening to it on a cassette walkman while standing in the lobby of Anderson Collegiate after a programming course*, and that course was in 1986.
I transferred the recording from cassette to minidisc to MP3 to iTunes, and I’d really like to find out what it was so that I can buy a clean copy.
Here are some of the lyrics, as near as I can make them out:
*Away, away
In the (skin on the)? moonlight
Was I here at the wrong time?
A (head means)? away on a long dusty road
She surrendered her address
Should we make this a conquest?
Let the night disappear with the wet and the cold.
Away Away
What sense of procedure
Away away
Let your wings never falter
Away away
That taste of adventure
Away away
(Lead the <something>)? to the water…*
Here’s a chunk of it (direct link to 2.4-megabyte MP3).
Lyrics searches have come up empty. Google knows nothing. If someone could help me find this, I’d really appreciate it, and a long-term musical mystery would be solved.
