Help me find Kindereggs!

Wo. I’m really surprised that the might of the Ferrero company (millions of Dollars each year with its wide range of products around the world) hasn’t managed to change that old law.

So what happens if you drive to Canada or Mexico (depending on which is closer) and buy a crate of that stuff and import them yourself? Will the FDA put you in court and you get a 10-year sentence in prison, or does the law only apply to manufactures and sellers, not private consumers?

Then why can you buy fortune cookies? What am I missing?

Hell, how can they sell Twinkies?

A case? My sister would love you for that!

Kinder eggs, a surprise, chocolate and a treat according to the adds

The same brand makes some nice milky European chocolate while you’re picking up the eggs.

Doesn’t everyone? Is this another one of those “…except in the US.” things?

No, Christmas crackers aren’t common in Germany, I only see them in British TV.

I’m in the US but in a rural, remote location. I’m two hours in three different directions from a city with more than 100k people.

Thanks for everyone’s help. I wound up ordering a case from dutchmarket.com for US$29.99 + $21 in shipping. That’s twenty-four eggs in the case which brings it a quite bit lower than the individual egg price which runs up pretty high when you count shipping.

That secondary market for the toys made searching for the candy tough; I kept getting hits on the toys rather than the eggs themselves.

See, that’s what I thought. I first heard about the things a couple of years after they were banned, and have been longing to get one of these choke hazards for my very own

Ya know, a few years ago I sent a bunch of Kinder Eggs to someone on this very board because she couldn’t get them in the US. I have no idea, whatsoever, who that was. I really have no memory. That’s rather disturbing.

Anyhow - send me your address and I’ll ship you some. However, I’ll probably have no memory of it in short order.

$21 for shipping.

For what kind of shipping? Can you request the cheapest, by passenger pigeon service or what? I’m thinking that if we weren’t in a major financial crisis right now at the Ujest Manor, I’d buy three cases and just let the kids in our lives go into a kinder egg induced coma from the thrills of it all.
I just realized that Dutch Market site is in Chatham, Ontario. That’s not really all that far from me. huh.

All I need now is money and I’ll make a run for the border for kinder eggs and a high flush toilet. And Molson’s XXX , or whatever it is that has more alcohol that my husband likes.

In this case UPS three day International shipping was the lowest shipping they offered. Given that we’re going into the holidays and I’ve ordered food stuffs I’m not going to complain about that.

International…feh!
It’s CANADA fercryinoutloud, not OutFookingIstanbul!!!111!!!

Tell me about it but the US Customs has this thing about not smuggling Moose or something like that.

(Knowing my luck the drug sniffing dogs will have to check the inside of every single egg.)

Dunno if anyone is interested but this is a good laugh.

Inside the chocolate part of a kinder egg is a yellow capsule containing the do-it-yourself toy.

Discard the toy and keep the yellow capsule.

Find an old computer mouse with a ball - the type you put aside when you got a fancy optical mouse.

Remove the ball and put it in the yellow capsule.

What have you got?

A GIANT JUMPING BEAN!!!

Satisfaction guaranteed!

At my old company kinder eggs were considered currency by the IT department for favours and we had hundreds of them.

Every time an old mouse was thrown out another magic bean was created, every drawer and cupboard was full of them. Great fun.

Try Germandeli.com.

You will have alot of success finding them there. They import from Germany and ship out of Texas!

Check them out!

THANK YOU!
(When our local German Delicatessan closed years ago, which was the everything German that you need place we went too, my MIL was forlorn.)
