Help Me Find News Stories for a Time Capsule Before 5pm CST

I have a big family, and one of my cousins finally got hitched and had a kid last year, the first of our generation to do so. She is turning one soon, and her mother wants us to put stuff in a time capsule to be opened in 20 years on her 21st birthday.

I am at work for the next four hours, and have access to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, New York Times, and Washington Post on mircofilm. What were the biggest/most interesting news stories this year? And when were they published in the papers? (close approximate dates OK, film has a week or so on one roll usually). I want to print a few out to put in the capsule. Also, if there was anything really interesting in Time Magazine we have that too.

I’m also going to include some pop culture/tech stuff, because it will be cool to compare what’s out now with what will be out in 20 years. I’m gonna add something about the iPhone, because it’s the “hip” thing and pretty advanced as consumer technology goes. Any ideas for stuff like that?
