Help me find this Jerry Clower story

Way back a long time ago (a little less than thirty years ago,) I lived with my parents about half way between Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Liberty, Mississippi. We would here Jerry Clower stories on the radio sometimes, mostly at night while coming home from visiting relatives.

One night, there was a story about the Ledbetters having opened a restaurant/gas station place - kind of like a truck stop. The funny part of the story had to do with the PA system that Marcel and the other boys put in. It seems they installed one of the speakers under the seat in the outhouse, and used it to scare the living daylights out of a woman who’d gone in there to do what you normally do in an outhouse.

Has anybody ever heard this story? If you have, could you please tell me which one of his albums it is on? I’ve got four or five tapes of his stories, but I dont’ have that one.

Mort, I have to admit I’m stumped. And I swore I had heard all of the Marcel stories!

My suggestion is to visit amazon.com and type in Jerry Clower. You can look at most of the track listings and see if they ring a bell. I did this, but was unable to figure out which one you were looking for. You might have more luck!

I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the first time anyone’s come to the SDMB looking for info on Jerry Clower.

HAW!
