Help me get a gift for Anniz (aka, Hej Scanidopers!)

Anniz has promised me not to read this thread, as it’s about a gift I want to give her for our wedding.

I want to get her a nice wall mounted map of her homeland, Sweden. I’ve checked the National Geographic, but they don’t have anything more specific than continental (all of Europe, not just Sweden/Scandinavia).

I did a Google search, and found some sites, but most were in Swedish, and there was one in Danish. I’m starting to gain a passable understanding of Swedish, but not nearly enough to navigate an e-commerce site.

I’m wondering if anyone could help me find a map that I can get framed here in the States for her. Soda, Floater, flodnak, etc., are there map stores near you that would have a good map of Sweden? I’d like to get something poster-sized, but I’m flexible with the size. Just something nice.

I did find this one on an English site, maps.com, but it’s not current, and it’s Scandinavian, not just Swedish. I do like the map, though, as I personally prefer old maps, but this isn’t for me, it’s for Anniz.

Thanks a lot.

I can probably help you. Would you prefer poster-size? “Just” regular map or special kind?

Ja, map sized. Not anything that would cover a full wall, but something comparable with a movie poster (60x100cm). Something in that range.

I’d prefer a rolled map, rather than a folded one, since a poster tube should survive being sent overseas, and a folded map might have creases still when framed.

I went to e-mail you, Juggler, but your address isn’t listed.

Also, Mods, there’s a typo in the subject. It should read “…Hej Scandidopers” not “Scanidopers.” Thanks.

My e-mail is ivarsson@hotmail.com e-mail me if you got any more specifications, I will go and check the bookstores tomorrow. If you really want I can check antuiqe stores aswell

Great, tack. I just e-mailed you. I’m more interested in a contemporary map, although that 16th C. map I linked to above intrigues me.
