Help Me Get Drunk

this is NOT TRUE!!!

this is another one of those myths perpetuated by Hallmark to sell greeting cards, or something. the key, as has been noted previously in this thread, is to drink water… lots and lots of water. before, during, and after. an aspirin before bed is okay, has never helped me, but do not take more than 1 aspirin. i forget why but mixing alcohol with medium-to-large doses of aspirin is reeeeeeally bad for you. in my experience, the “beer before liquor…” thing might have a lot to do with your individual drinking characteristics, as does what kind of booze will get you around the bend the quickest. personally, beer gets me drunk FAST and then abandons me just as quickly. vodka does me up nice, tequila makes me sick, and whisky for the most part tastes bad. grain alchohol is the ambrosia of the gods.

but that’s just me personally. i just wanted to jump in and say that mixing proofs doesn’t necessarily mess you up. yeah. and don’t frickin drive.

I hope that you will check back in today and let everyone know how you feel, and if you drank lots of water and took Advil or something. Talk to us.

Evidently my innate good sense or maturity (snort, yeah right) actually prevented me from really getting drunk. I did however manage to get slightly buzzed. No hangovers, the water helped. I also talked with my friend and worked things out.

The funniest part was that by 9 PM, I was totally exhausted.
No longer even tipsy, just asleep. And no, I didn’t pass out. I may not have had anything to drink for years, but I do know when I’ve passed out. Probably just a long Friday mixed with a stressful Saturday.

For all of you that worried or offered suggestions to make this easier for me…thanks. Stupidity didn’t win in the end after all.

AA is for quitters

When you’re done being a drunk bum:

  1. Drink arseloads of water
  2. Eat bread. It’s yummy, it absorbs liquids.
  3. Down two ibuprofen.

You’ll end up feeling sore as heck in the morning, but not hangover.
