Help Me !!! I can't stop baking..

All week I’ve been feeling the urge to bake and have managed to restrain myself until today.

It hit me hard at about lunchtime (4 hours ago Aust EST). So I take the dog on a huge long walk thinking this will distract me - but nooooo we pass a convenience store and I can’t help myself I buy eggs, butter and all that good stuff that goes into baked food.

Over an hour later I get home and start baking, I now have 4 batches of Anzac biscuits, 1 apple tea cake and hot cross buns. I can’t stop I want to make chocolate chip cookies next but I’ve run out of cooking utensils.

Whilst the dishwasher does its job I turned to the savoury foods and started corn chowder going in the slow cooker. Maybe I’ll make that green chicken curry also…? By the time that’s done the dishwasher will have finished and I can do the cookies…

Or I could put some bread on in the bread maker ‘cos I don’t need utensils for that…

Where am I going to put all this food and why can’t I stop…

Mmmmmmmmm… homemade ANZAC bickies.

I don’t know if you can stop. Or what I could do, but I would be ever so grateful if you would send me some baking. And maybe some chowder as well!

As long as you’re baking, I don’t know what ANZAC biscuits are, but it sounds like I should want some, so bake me a couple.

For our northern friends.

Anzac Biscuits

I always bake on a Sunday! It’s normal behaviour I tellya! I didn’t make chocolate chip biscuits because they are still working on last week’s batch.

I made gluten free bread. Orange gluten free biscuits. GF chocolate brownies with sour cherries and white chocolate.

Now I’m roasting an organic chicken with honey and pepper and coriander seeds.

I can’t help you, but I can send you my address in case you need to need to rid your home of baked goods.
Mmmmm… Anzacs.

My SIL arrived home just after I’d got the bread on, but before I started the green chicken curry and restrained me from further cooking.

I now have a fridge full of food which is great, think I may be able to live on Anzac biscuits this week.

Sadly for my SIL she now has the baking bug (must be contagious) and has just started on 3 different items. Poor oven’s going to be doing overtime tonight.

I, too, am a baking addict. When the urge hits, I can’t restrain myself. Oh, I’ll just make some cream puffs, they’re so easy. Well, the oven’s hot and it takes no time at all to put in some coconut macaroons. Hmmn, Jack doesn’t like coconut, so I’ll whip up some fudge for him. Hey, look, we have an extra jar of peanut butter cookies: mmmmmmn, peanut butter cookies!

Next thing I know, I’m ransacking the cupboards for more ingredients to make more yummy things. Of course, I live in a hotel, so there are always people to give baked goods too; especially the bachelors and the retired folks.

Last night I made two loaves of potato bread and 2 loaves of English muffin bread, a pan of brownies, babaganoush, and chili reanos. I stopped because I was falling over tired (I make bread by hand and kneeding will tire you out like nothing else.)

Will you make some lamingtons?

Pweeeeease???

The recipe for the ANZAC biscuits looks fantastic. I’m assuming (hoping) that the dessicated coconut is similar to the bagged coconut you find in the baking section of the grocery store?

Help me !!! I can’t stop eating baked stuff…

There’s a synergy in here somewhere.
