What I remember: Male vocalist, largely performed on piano. There may be strings that swell up at some point, but the piano is primary. Definitely love/torch song of some kind. Reminds me a bit of “Stay” by Rihanna. I’m pretty sure it’s an individual artist and not a band.
The song is contemporary, since I’ve heard it on the radio a couple of times on a station where they only play modern stuff, so I’d safely say it’s from this year, or perhaps last year (I’m not really up on what’s current). But it’s not on the fringes, but rather a major commercial release. Sorry, no memory of specific lyrics.

I found a song called “Say Something”, but it is a duet, and the song I’m thinking of is definitely not. But it’s definitely in the same style. Thanks, but not quite there yet.
The John Legend song I immediately thought of when I read your OP and that matched pretty much everything you described is All of Me.
