This may or may not be a long shot. I’ve no idea who this song is by. But, I heard a Brazilian Jazz song the other night that I was taught by a woman years ago. It is sung in mostly Portugese by a soft female voice, backed up by guitar, with some english interspersed, mainly the word ‘baby’. Also the first word of many of the verses is vose (pronounced VO-ZAY) which I was told is Portugese for ‘baby’. I can not provide the melody, which is exceedingly lovely, but I do know the basic lyrical construction, half translated and following here:
‘Baby (vose), if you want to love me, first you must understand…’
‘the gasoline (la gasolina)’
‘the margarine (la margarina)’ (in another verse magezina)
blah, blah, blah more song…
refrain… baby… bAaa by… (in english)
I must find this out. Please give me a hand folks. Thanks
