Help me identify this bracelet please!!!

I have acquired a bracelet that I believe is made by a designer called John Atencio. If it is one of his, I want to sell it on eBay; but I do not want to misrepresent it as one of his if it isn’t.

So: Here
are
six
pictures
of
it.
For comparison, here is a picture of a bracelet which I know for certain is one of his:

Except this one has gemstones.

Can anyone tell me?

It certainly is pretending to be one. Don’t know if this is something people fake or not. If not - It is one of his.

The problem is, when I search google images for “John Atencio bracelet,” none of the pictures I get back are this bracelet.

Does anyone know at least if he is known to mold his initials into the back of links, as shown?

Is this it?

Several websites indicate that he does often (if not always) use his initials as in your piece. There are known fakes, as well.

I was not able to find it either, but if the pic you show is correct - it def matches - see other page/pic of back here…

Thing clasp clasps onto seems a little different.

Also look at hallmark on page 30 here (corner page numbers)

The copyright SS18K (sterling silver 18kt gold)

Another example of JA:

No doubt in my mind someone is attempting to replicate his look - definitely doesnt look like its in his current collection, but if first piece is authentic - this is def made to look like its from the same guy.

I’m beginning to think its a fake - as well as the one you linked to as being def his. Doesn’t look as “polished” as his other pieces. Look at where the little dots of “gold” meet the silver. On his website they have a certain look and rounded quality to them with - your piece - the gold seems to be on top of little squares. Unless he has improved greatly in the last few years - I’d be suspicious.

DataX, I’ve been an appraiser for 14 years, looked at a lot of hallmarks and fakes, and I have to say… Damn, that’s good research!

Thanks, but now I’m not sure - I think overstock is considered legit - isn’t it?

The OP pics are awful (no offense - and can be due to silver tarnishing and black stuff wearing off).

I think the squares I was talking about are just an illusion from the design on that overstock page (which shows what it may have looked like new - obviously no gem stones).

I think it may be legit - and just looks bad due to tarnish and lack of contrast.

Overstock is indeed legit EXCEPT when they get stuff from other sources that are also usually legit themselves but have gotten scammed. Overstock makes it more likely to be authentic, just not a certainty.

The designer has a website…why not just ask him?

Seconded!!
Prof. Pepperwinkle: That pic you posted is indeed the same – apparently.

But, I do see DataX’s point, about the gold balls being atop little squares. In the picture Prof. Pepperwinkle posted, you can see that the gold balls look almost like spheres in sockets.

Then again, 18k is really soft. <sigh>

redtail23, right you are. I don’t know if I expect him to respond, but it’s worth a try.

My God, such a lot of effort you guys expended to help me! Thank you!
