Help me make a playlist

What I’ve done is collect links to various songs on Youtube in a Word Document. If I feel listening to a little music, I go to this document, and click on a link. After an ad, it plays the song. One at a time.

Is there an easy way to turn this collection of links into something that plays a few songs in a row?

Also, somewhat related, do you imagine if I fed my 10 favorite songs (or albums, or movies, I suppose) into some sort of AI, it would generate the 10 or 100 songs or albums or movies closest to the ones I’ve curated? Has anyone done anything like this? It would be a cool way for me to discover all sorts of things I’ve never tried but which I would like.

You can make playlists at music.youtube.com, or any other music service of your choice. Using a music service rather than youtube proper means you’ll get fewer ads.

Every music service also uses algorithms to guess what kind of music you like based on the music you tell it you like.

Very cool. Thanks. So a bunch of songs, some I’ve heard and like, show up. What do I do to make them form my own playlist? Play each of them? How to expand what they gave me in the starter set?

It’s going to be slightly different for any given music service, but they’ll all have an option somewhere to form a new playlist.

Here’s a help file for YouTube.

Pandora can do that for playing songs but, IME, needs to be guided via thumbs-up or -down several times on any given playlist before it can be left alone and not play something which doesn’t belong on that list. Particularly if the list is something out of the site’s comfort zone, like the “Irish” list I had playing a week ago.

I’ve bought individual tracks and the occasional CD because of tracks which turned up on my Pandora playlists.

Spotify has an AI DJ. I’ve not used it and I’ve read both great and thumbs down reviews.

If you prepare an M3U file

Then most multimedia players will be able to deal with it. No need for third-party online services.
