I don’t think naming your store after a TV show that just ended, with massive internet hate, is really the way to go. “So is your store awesome, like season 1-2, or does it suck like 7-8?”
“Comic Book Guy”.
Sadly, like “Throne of Games”, you’d run the risk of a massive media company suing your pants off, which is a pity because “Throne of Games” is an awesome name.
I thought “Bring It On” was a possible answer from the OP
While not a top contender, it would at least give an idea of what sort of store it was, although it would likely be mistaken for a video game store/arena.
Games Pot. (Put a black cauldron full of games at the end of a rainbow on the sign.)
A cheerleader store?
Jonathan Chance is opening a gaming store, and nobody has suggested Games of Chance?
Too obvious?
What about “One eight seven seven games 4 kids” ?
“Chance Comics & Games” works reasonably well. I’d also vote for “Name of Town Comics and Games”.
Lastly, consider something that indicates friendliness to people outside the gaming community.
“Approachable Comics & Games”
I’d drop the Art.
Woo! This opens an all new avenue.
What am I offered, Karen? I’ll take bids!
Meeples & Dice Comics and Art. I imagine the Meeples and Dice part bigger.
<City> Dice and Digests
Indeed, that was the plan. But the owner is insisting on at least half-a-million for it and my evaluation - with my CPA and attorney - made it about $125-$150,000.
So we determined to open up in the same general area with updated interiors and inventory. Looks like initial inventory will cost me about $40-50K.
I’ve got the inventory, staff and marketing lined up. We’re just looking at specific locations now and trying to get landlords to throw in build-out money.
I’m not clear on whether anyone knows this or not, but both “Throne of Games” and “Nerdvana” were used on the TBS reality show King of the Nerds. Whether that would cause trademark difficulties or not, I don’t know.
FWIW, I stole it from Big Bang Theory, specifically the episode in which Leonard decides to sell off all his collectibles, “The Nerdvana Annihilation” (S01E14).
I doubt that using a fictitious game store name mentioned in a TV show would cause trademark issues, but naming your store after a real TV show and book series that’s immensely popular and valuable sure will.
Oh you bastard.

Strange Games. A reference to the WarGames. “A strange game. The only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess?”
Blurred Edges. A reference to Wittgenstein’s Philosophical Investigations. “The concept ‘game’ has no clear definition. One might say that the concept ‘game’ is a concept with blurred edges.—But is a blurred concept a concept at all?—Is an indistinct photograph a picture of a person at all? Is it even always an advantage to replace an indistinct picture by a sharp one? Isn’t the indistinct one often exactly what we need?”
I think you need to consider that you need to use references aimed at a younger audience, not 80s references and such. So maybe a name like Sick Bae Clap Back. Those are things kids today say, right?
Or Stranger Games, which also brings in the Stranger Things crowd. Though you still run the risk of someone trumping you by opening up Strangest Things down the street.
Player’s Gonna Play.
