Long story short, these three were confiscated from someone who was… uh… not taking care of them… and dropped off at my house today. The poor babies are in pretty bad shape, but will hopefully be okay and will be up for adoption once they’re big and healthy enough.
They’re tiny. Really tiny. All boys. One is kind of grey/brown tabby and sort of fluffy. He’s the oldest and most robust. One is orange with white paws. He kind of hangs back a bit- I don’t have a really good feel for him yet. Then there’s the little guy. White with orange spots. He’s the smallest and in the worst shape and he needs a strong name- a fighter’s name.
No pictures yet, sorry- I have some from right after they arrived, but they were still filthy and I’d rather get some of them looking a bit healthier.
Any suggestions? Three that go together would be good, but not essential. Since they’re up for adoption, I’d like to give them kind of cool, unique names- not orangey and pepper.
Won’t they be renamed when they’re rehomed anyway?
That means you could give them really silly names. Names that you would never want to have to call out if they’d been gone too long after dinner time, like Fire, Police and Help.
But there are also quite a few conventional trio names:
Groucho, Harpo, Chico.
Harry, Ron, Hermione (I know the last one’s a girl’s name, but it’s a cat).
…on a less apocalyptic note, maybe Stone, Archer, and Glaive, respectively. Stone for the gray/brown tabby, Archer for the kitty who hangs back, and the badass Glaive for the littlest kitty–referencing catapults (:D), bows, and mucking great bladed polearms. Stone and Archer lend themselves easily to diminutives (Stoney and Archie), and Glaive doesn’t need one.
I have 3 ‘dropoffs’ that I adopted when they were 2 or 3yo. They are the apple of my eye, but I couldn’t come up with cool names in a hurry, so they are stuck with their kinda lame ones. All my fault of course, but yeah, if you can give them cool names to start with, so much the better.
So far, I like Cassius for the little one. I kind of like Sherlock for the gray one. Not sure on Mr. Orange. Gordon? Amadeus? John? Rex?
Best I can come up with in the names-that-go-together category are:
Darcy, Bingley, and Bennet
Rex, Fido, and Rover
Tyson, Sagan, and Feynman
John, George, and Ringo (Paul is dead).
