This is Natalie. And I like to choose Camilla for my hamster. I want to thank everyone trying to name my pet hamster.
You could name him, “Hampton” after Hampton the Hamster at Hamsterdance.com.
You could also name him, “Hämsterviel” after Dr. Jacques Von Hämsterviel on the Lilo and Stitch TV series.
Do you and your son have something related to pop culture you both enjoy? You could use that as the theme for his name as well. (As an example, my wife and I named our cats after femal Star Trek characters.)

My sister had a hamster years ago named Petunia. She alleges that I dropped her hamster and damaged it, but I have no recollection. I was like, 4.
Anywho, Petunia. Good name.

Actually, if you’re going to call it Camilla, why not go the whole hog and call it Camilla Parker-Bowles?

Camilla is cute (though maybe you could give her Natalie for a middle name if you are not going to be using that name soon?).
Camilla was Gonzo-from-the-Muppets toy duck. It’s a name with good history 
Fluffy or Precious or Sweetie or Brownie (if she’s brown). Or a nice Russian name, like Katya or Anastasia or Tasha, to celebrate her ancestry.
Or, you can go the ironic route–Killer, Fang, Syd Vicious, Baldy. Something that will make people laugh and smile as soon as they meet her.
