Help me plan a date in Manhattan with my Husband

We are taking advantage of Grandma this Saturday and are actually going to leave the house without the young’uns. It’s been awhile since we did anything like a date alone so we’re not quite sure what to do. Aside from walking around the village or using some free movies tickets that I have for the Sony theater, we’re open to suggestions. Please keep in mind we’re married so actual fun or good food is more important than throwing the money away to impress someone (I’m already impressed).

CONES!

It’s an ice cream parlor on Bleecker Street, near Cornelia. Best ice cream I have ever had in my life.

Oh my god. I think I have to go there tonight, in fact.

Emily Latille voice onHow on earth are the two of you going to fit in Manhattan??? and what’s more, I don’t think that he’d appreciate having two whole grown people trying to …

When I read the thread title, I immediately thought of some bizarre Fantastic Voyage kind of scenario.

Thanks, Grandfather Trout we’ll keep it in mind. I think I’m gonna take him to Topaz (thai), and then the zoo or MoMA.

A party in Manhattan…

Club Duodenum. No doubt about it. It’s just up the road from The Prostatatorium.

Just stay out of my liver – it’s a Superfund site.

Seriously, the various street festivals are fun for at least a walk-through if you haven’t done them before.

And you’re lucky – The Ninth Avenue Food festival is currently going on on Ninth Ave (duh!) between about 43rd and Fiftysomething streets. This is the King of street fairs, with restraunts from all over the city selling small samples of their menus along with the usual craft jewelry booths and whatnot. Definitely worth a trip. The smells are free, the food is cheap.
