I’m trying to identify a PC video game that I played about five years ago, but it may be even older than that. It was a pretty famous game, a FPS with lots of levels, and the main weapon was a glove that shot green organic blobs that could bounce around corners and kill enemies.
Not much to go on, I know, but any help would be appreciated.
I appreciate the response, but that’s not it. It was more like Half-Life or Unreal in graphics (and I can’t be sure it wasn’t a version of one of those), and the spores the thing shot were definitely green. You could get a bunch of them from certain plants, but they would also slowly regenerate in the gun, so you never completely ran out of ammo.
Nope, it was a single player game. A little more is coming back to me. The gun or glove or whatever was kind of alive, and during lulls in the action the avatar would stroke it like a kitten.
It’s definitely Opposing Force. That fish gun was easily the best part of the game, although the rest of it wasn’t bad. On sale on Steam right now, I dunno if it’s gone 75% off yet this season though.
YES!! That’s it! For some reason I thought it was a glove, and googling for green spore glove got me millions of hits about gardening, so I couldn’t find it.
Thanks very much, Dopers.
ETA: And reading about the game, I see that I was conflating it with the hivehand.
