Help Me Rename My Son

Definetly Johnzilla. It’s specific to the idea of destruction, while Johnstrosity isn’t.

Johnstrosity! It sounds so cool!

Johnzilla

New entry…Johnzadestruction?

I always thought that the entire Godzilla series was about as good as it gets, so Johnzilla gets my vote.

Eventually, theoretically, they get through that period. My son, Isadore, went from being Izadorable to Izzilla at 1 & 1/2 years. At 3, he doesn’t do the Izzilla dance anymore (kind of a combination of a sumo waddle, a polka, and a cat clawing the drapes, all at once) he’s more into throwing fits and being called on the carpet.

(Better than throwing pets & shitting on the carpet, I suppose.)

Still, speaking as a poet, Johnstrosity has a certain ‘jensay kumquat’ about it.

tomndebb: He already gets called John John, a lot. That and John Boy. Even though I swore up and down that I would NEVER EVER call him either one of those names. Sigh. It just happened, I guess. FWIW, he was born in the same year that JFK Jr. died (which is really, really weird, because my daughter, who’s name is Diana, was born the same year that Princess Diana died–but neither one of my children is named after those folks).

Scotti: Johnzadestruction? Wow. That’s a mouthful!

Arden: He already has his own song, “Johnny B. Goode.” He knows it’s his, too. He can even do the “go go go” part. He chooses to ignore the rest, though.

Hastur: Oh, he’s got a firm lock on “no.” Oh boy, does he ever. He really likes to say it as he’s doing something he knows he’s not supposed to be doing.

Oops. If some kindly moderator would care to fix the coding on that last post, I would be most appreciative.

[sub]note to self: do not attempt to do coding before coffee…[/sub]

Johnstrosity all the way!

Yeah, Johnstrosity definitely

One more vote for Johnstrosity.

Okay, here’s the tally:

Johnzilla: 11 votes

Johnstrosity: 8 votes

Johnzilla it is!

I’ve been trying them both out on him today, and he himself seems to prefer Johnzilla. He cracks up whenever you say it to him, and he’s actually trying to say it himself. It comes out sounding like “dahdeedah,” but I understand his point.

I shall probably also begin referring to my daughter by a shortened version of her other name, which is Dianasaurus Rex. Henceforth, she shall be known as Dianasaur.

Be looking for the occasional story about them. I imagine they’ll be doing something worth writing about in oh…about 20 minutes or so.
