Hmmm…I’m taking the kidlets to Brookfield Zoo on Friday. Perhaps we can get a picture of Stanley with a polar bear! Okay, the golden lion tamarins might be a little more accessible.

Those wishing to partake, PLEASE email me at the address in my profile. I’m using my work address, and can only get to the Dope every now & then, and I don’t want to miss anyone!
Between you guys and my contacts at work, we are beginning to cover quite an area.
SDMB is ahead of work contacts , 18 - 15
I’m trying to keep a list of who & where I’ve gotten a response from so far, so of you’re sending in, let me know where you are so I can update!
Keep 'em coming! My niece is freaking out whenever I call her with another far away location!
Still waiting on Asia, though!
I’ve put my pics into a Photobucket album here !
It wants a password.
oops
Password is stanley (all lowercase)
let me know if it works.
Update (and a little bump) !
The first photos have come back !
As soon as I get permission from the pic-taker, I’ll upload them to the album.
Please remember that I would like your permission to post the photos !!
I am so totally in! That’s great. My brother’s visiting, too, so I’ll draft him into helping me find a good spot… Oh! How’s Lake Ontario?
Also, yes, you have my permission to post, shred, or build an altar to my photo.
More photos are up in the Photobucket album.
Switzerland (Doper Anaglyph - excellent photos!)
Austria (Work contact), and
West Chester, PA (another Work) have checked in.
I’d like to take Stanley to Opening Day for the Detroit Tigers on March 31st.
It should just make the deadline. I’ll see where else in SE Michigan I can get to in the next week.
PS. You have permission to post any pictures I take. (just getting that out of the way)

You have been emailed. You’ll have some Deep South goodness for Stanley headed your way.
First installment sent, and you have my permission to post any and/or all that you get.

GorillaMan, I’m waiting for that email!
I’d sent one already, perhaps it’s been filtered out as spam…another’s been dispatched, this time from my Hotmail account, so that one certainly should get through!
GorillaMan - Still no email.
PM me with your address.
I did a poor man’s laminate (clear packing tape) on my Stanley; we’re going to the zoo today and it’s already snowing. I want to get a pic of him by the front gates, or somewhere with the zoo’s name so **labneice **can look up the zoo and find where it is, if she wants (this is supposed to be educational, after all!) Hopefully he won’t be too shiny to photograph well.
I’m in. Stanley can hang with the goats in my village, and I’m probably going to go to Veliko Turnavo, the ancient capital of Bulgaria, next weekend, so Stanley can visit the castle and old town.
Only a few flurries so far today, despite the forcast being lots more rain…I am concerned about him blowing away, though!
Besides the original, I made up “clone”, and taped him to a picture frame glass. Worked pretty good (it’s the Atlantic Ocean pic in the Photobucket album), but a bit “reflectly”(and made of plate glass -oops), so we only used it once. Was windy as hell that day (see the coaster pic - I have to redo that one :smack: ). A balsa wood stand is working well too. My wife’s minivan is stocked with Stanley tools now, and I have a 3 day weekend after work today, so I’m going nuts this weekend.
I have to mail the original back to her, so I’m using the clones when he might get messed up.
I’m getting quite the reactions from people while setting up the pictures, too. For the Hard Rock Cafe shot, there was a crowd of about 15 folks behind me waiting for their turn on the motorcycle, and I got quite a round of applause afterwards.
My sister showed my niece the online album last night, and she actually *squeeked * !
