Help Name My Gun School

I am going to start doing my own customized pistol and personal protection classes soon, as well as the NRA Certified Courses I am already doing. I want to make the whole thing legit soon, instead of just doing everything under the table. One thing I will need that I did not need before, is a name.
See, when I teach the NRA Classes, the certificates come straight from the NRA. But when I do my own classes, I will have to make my own certificates.
So the school needs a name. Something that would look nice on certificates and sound really cool. Anyone good with logos would be pretty helpful too.

Any suggestions?

How about Learn To Kill?

BAHAHAHAHA!

Ah, just kidding. My personal views can be put aside for now.

How about some variation on “Pistolwhipping”? Or something with “Shield” in it. Or something with “Aim” in it? “Triggerfinger”???

I dunno. I don’t know gun words too well. I guess you don’t want any kind of pro-violence terms.

Don’t take advice from us Australians on this. We cannot understand the big Love Affair you huys have with those things. The second amendment?

Okay, this is soooooo out there but in light of Ms. Rosie O’Donnell (can’t stand her personal views regarding guns) but how about:

North American Gun Safety Services

aka NAGSS

It’s bad but has a funny undertone to it. You can enlighten those that really know what it means.

But in all seriousness, I will help develop a logo once you choose the name. I am bad with names but might be able to, with the help of others, come up with a logo. (again, with the help of others!)

Some suggestions…

-Patriot In A Box

-Survival Of The Fittest

-Bullseye Training

-Cool, Calm, & Collected (or “CCC” for short)

Well let’s see. You need to make a distinction between neat/clever and effective regarding choosing a name in that they are not always the same thing. What do other successful people do? You can go a number of directions per the list I culled from Google below.

You can apparently go “clever-colorful” or “authorized-certified” in your naming approach or combine them.

“Certified-Authorized” approach will need your name to end in Institute, Academy, Center, School etc.

“Clever-Colorful” will involve some kind of acronym like “Pro-tec” or a colorful name like “Thunder Ranch”

Combo examples are “Top Gun Training Centre”, “Gunsite Academy” etc.

If you are going to serve the general public (as you seem to indicate) a Certified-Authorized approach is probably best with perhaps a regional name ie your county, state, region, or some more colorful geographic identifier attached. If firearm enthusiasts are your market a Clever-Colorful name might have more appeal like “Lethal Force Institute” "Tactical blah blah blah etc.

According to your profile you are Tampa, Florida based so maybe

Sun Belt/Florida/Tampa/Tampa Bay/Atlantic/Tarpon Springs…etc.

Firearms Training
Gun Training
Firearms & Training
Self Defense Training

Institute/Academy/Center/School

as an example

more regional
Sun Belt Firearms Training Academy

More local
Tarpon Springs Self Defense Training School

Intermediate
Tampa Bay Self Defense Training Center

If you plan to sell the school at some point keeping your personal name off the school name would probably be a good idea.
Cumberland Tactics Firearms Training
Gunsite Academy, Firearms training in Paulden Arizona
Top Gun Training Centre
Advanced Tactical Group, Ltd
Eastex [TX]
Firearms Academy of Seattle [WA]
Front Sight Firearms Training Institute [CA]
Gabe Suarez Tactical Training [CA]
GMJ Enterprises [NV, UT]
Lethal Force Institute (Mas Ayoob) [NH]
TechCom Training
Inland Empire Firearms Training
American Firearms Training And Tactics
Tactical Firearms Training Institute
Brenzovich Firearms & Training Center
MidSouth Institute of Self Defense Shooting
Thunder Ranch Firearms Training
Pro-TEC Firearms Academy
Northwest Firearms Training Center
DEFENSIVE COMBAT ACADEMY

Superbly Honed Arms Resource Program
aka S.H.A.R.P.

The certificate would read:
S.H.A.R.P. Shooter

Ooh, I like silent-rob’s suggestion.

School motto: Our guns don’t kill people, We do

::::exits quickly::::

Church Of The Holy Bangstick

How about…

**Lock & Load Lyceum **

or

**Another One Bites The Dust Academy **

One of the courses could be “That little bright red dot on your chest is an indication that you should relocate rather quickly 101”
Hometownboy
after not nearly enough sleep

Thanks everyone. You guys are always helpful.

An acronym might be pretty cool like the ones techi and silent_rob suggested.

I would also like some greek or latin word, or some cool sounding word. Like Orion or Titan or Polaris or something cool like that. I have even considered Ursus.

Now, if we can figure out a name which is either a professional (SHARP) or funny (NAGSS) acronym that has a really cool word in it or maybe the city or county name and has great logo potential. (as you can tell, I am very undecided… but very open for suggestions)

So you know: I live in Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida USA
Also, there is no physical school or building. This will just be a PO Box and hopefully later a web site. I will teach in a myriad of places.

Keep the ideas coming people!! Eventually we will get something perfect.
Some more ideas:

Hillsborough Advanced Defensive Shooting and Universal Protection Academy

Or if we could come up with a single awesome word, it could be just

[insert awesome word here] Protection Academy
or
[A.W.] Self Defense Training Inc.

or something… damn. I am not very good at this. But I will know when I see it.

Keep 'em coming. Thank you everyone!!!

Koresh and Burn?

How about [g]The Gun Control Academy**?
Of course by gun control you mean being able to hit what you want to hit.
