All righty… I’m sure just about everyone on these boards has seen the Simpsons (if you haven’t, I’m very ashamed of you). Anyways… there’re some music tracks (that I know didn’t originate with the show) that they use every now and then. Like the episode where Marge wants to take Homer to the ballet, and Homer thinks, “Mmm… ballet…” and starts having visions of the circus (like a bear or a monkey driving around in a little car or something). While he’s doing this, some circus-type music is playing.
Another episode, the one where Bart steals his grandpa’s teeth… there’s a scene where Bart has the teeth in his mouth and is swinging around on the fan with them. Again, some funky-silly music is playing.
Teeming millions… HELP ME find this music!! Is there a CD I can buy? Is there someplace where I can (legally) download it? Heck, can you just tell me what these goofy pieces of music are called?
Can’t tell you what they are, but you might check here…
Track list for Songs in the Key of Springfield.
Track list for Simpsonic.
Happy hunting.
By golly, I may have pegged one of them! According to the Simpsons Archive, the circus music during the Homer/ballet episode is entitled “Entry of the Gladiators” by Julus Fucik. I’ll keep hunting for the other one, thus earning the record for most consecutive posts in the same thread.
Dijon, you’re a prince. I didn’t think it’d be included in the Simpsons’ soundtracks, simply because I don’t think the songs are originally Simpson material.
But, thanks a bajillion… I’ll see about acquiring those CD’s ASAP.
They probably meant Julius Fucik. Can’t come up with the other one, though…it was in the episode where Bart is forbidden to see the Itchy and Scratchy movie, if that helps.
From the Simpsons Archive: “Lisa puts Khatchaturian’s Sabre Dance on the phonograph while Bart swings overhead, [Grandpa’s] teeth clamped to the ceiling fan.”
