Madame Butterfly on the Simpsons

I’m trying to help a friend find some information about a song played in an episode of The Simpsons in which Barney wins the Springfield movie contest. I think the episode is called “A Star is Burns.” During Barney’s winning movie, a song from Madame Butterfly was playing in the background. Does anyone know which song they used? I haven’t been able to find a reference to a specific song name when doing a search on the web. Any info you might offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :slight_smile:

It was probably “Un Bel Di Vedremo”. I think I remember that being the one in the episode in question, and it’s THE big song from Madame Butterfly in terms of popular recognition. Heck, it was in a freakin’ burger ad a while back.

Lamia’s right. It was definitely “Un Bel Di Vedremo,” Cio-Cio San’s aria near the beginning of Act II.
