Help recognizing CD-ROM

I have just recieved a new computer with a formatted hard drive and no operating system. I have partitioned my hard drive into 4 partitions using FDISK and have formatted all 4 partitions. I am now trying to install Windows but am having trouble. The CD rom is not recognized, so I am using a WINDOWS ME boot disk. This recognizes my cd rom as the h: drive. However, when I switch to drive H: and type a command, such as SETUP or DIR, I get the following:

CDR101: NOT READY READING DRIVE H:
ABORT, RETRY, FAIL

My motherboard is a ASUS A7N8X.

Thanks, Conti

Dirty CD.

My fault for expecting it to be a complicated problem. However, that’s all there was to it. So cancel this GD question.
