Help: remove unwanted toolbar

My IE 11 currently doesn’t have any working search add-ons.

I tried to add Google Tool bar.

Too successful: I now have a tool bar that’s stuck on my DESKTOP screen! It isn’t part of my browser; it’s part of my Desktop! (Windows 7.)

It has an Internet Explorer icon at the left, has a “Search the Web” box with a magnifying glass, and buttons for facebook, Wikipedia, and YouTube.

And it won’t go away. I uninstalled Google Toolbar, but this damn thing is still there, right at the very top of my screen. ALWAYS!

If I open Word or Excel…this bastard is right at the top of the screen. How the hell do I get rid of the stinker?

Follow-up: Found it and killed it!

It was a program called Web Bar, and I sure as hell never chose to install it. But Control Panel allowed me to uninstall it, so I guess I’m okay now.

Gaah! Bastards!

Many downloads of useful software come bundled with other stuff that are really crap. If I go through an installer from CNET as an example among many and don’t carefully read each screen I can end up with unwanted programs. Sometimes you have to uncheck boxes to not install the “extras” on another screen you might have to push a button, or even the opposite of other screens check a box to not install extra programs.
