While stopped in traffic last Tuesday, I saw a tiny kitten trotting along after passersby, obviously trying to solicit some help, and being ignored, so, soft-hearted sucker that I am, I pulled over and rescued her. I put up some signs nearby, because she’s clearly been raised with people. She loves people! But nobody called to get her back, and sadly, I can’t keep her. I have six cats already, and they are pretty unhappy about her being here.
So this is Speck, the most charming, adorable kitten you could ever want.
Don’t do this to me. I already have 9 cats and I live too close to Atlanta. My husband will divorce me - actually he will be a widower because my cats will kill me. Dax still hasn’t forgiven me for taking in Magic.
She is squeeeeeeeeeeable, though. Hope you can find a home for her. Have you tried FreeCycle? I’ve been seeing a lot of kittens adopted on there lately.
Use http://www.petfinder.com or http://www.1-800-Save-A-Pet.com to try to find a rescue group in your area that may be able to help. Don’t do any sort of “free to good home” as there are unscrupulous types who will take them just to sell them for some quick cash. Go through a rescue group to be sure the kitten gets a chance at a decent home.
Awwwww! Such a cute kitten… if it weren’t for the current uncertainty in my life (come on job hunt! bear fruit!) I’d swing by and pick her up on my way back from my up coming road trip!
Really? I have two that need a new home. I’m moving and am unable to take my cats with me. Litterbox trained, and completely loveable.
I’ll even deliver them to you.
My daughter might want to drop in and visit, but she’d like knowing they’re close.
Yikes, we all want dogs and cats to have a good home – and it looks like this cat is going to get one and that’s great – but please, Please, PLEASE if you have something like this when you want to ask something of the board you really need to clear it with us first.
We really do need to vet all stuff like this, whether it’s getting an animal a home or asking for your favorite charity walkathon/bake sale/other event, anything offered to the membership needs permission to run first. We hardly ever say no, in fact we want to help you, but we need to know first.
