help w/monitor?

my monitor (cornerstone p1450) just suddenly became messed up for no apparent reason.

it’s got these horizontal gray bands across it now wherever there are lines of type.
it’s kind of like the type has a long stetched out shadow across the width of the screen.
if it’s a big fat font, the band is fatter, accordingly.

it’s got all kinds of things on the screen menu, when I pull it up, but I don’t know what they do.

any help?

This is gonna sound silly, but do you have a monitor extension cable?

Unplug it from wall & computer & plug it back into computer then into wall. Sometimes this does amazing things.
