This doesn’t happen in other long pages.
Only in long SDMB threads. Scrolling up and down slows, buttons and menus run clumsily, too. When I return to the main SDMB page or enter a short thread, everything is normal again. Is it only my IExplorer?
Grousser - The same exact thing is happening to me, I even have a cable modem. Check about this message board and read my thread on it. Post to it and maybe a guru will come help us.
I should mention that this problem is persistent. I have downloaded the lastest spyware, and am running the latest Norton Symtec utilities. The problem does not happen whilst I am at work, only at home.
Computer Guru’s please help us with some suggestions!

I am a bit reluctant to post technical support type information here, but here’s what I think MIGHT be the problem:
It could be a Javascript resource problem. Here’s one thing to try:
(FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!)
Increase your IE cache file size.

From the Tools menu go to Internet Options.

Choose the Settings button.

Push that little slide-bar-thingy a bit to the right.
Keep in mind, the further you push that little slide-bar-thingy to the right, the more disk space you are going to be using when you use IE. After you change that setting and press OK, you might need to close down your IE and restart it.
If you restart and things are better, voila. If not, you probably want to go back and set your IE cache back to what it was before.

How fast is your computer?
Long SDMB threads have a lot of tables, and IE isn’t very good at rendering tables quickly. I suggest viewing fewer posts per page (if there’s a way to do that) or using another browser, like Opera or Mozilla.
