Help with a complaint about a psychologist...

I have composed a very detailed complaint about my former psychologist which I want to submit to the proper authorities.

However, I do not wish to take this step without complete confidence that my complaints are solid, so I am seeking someone to sort of vet my complaints before I go forward with them to ** The Authorities **. (It is a very delicate situation involving other people that I am not going to go into publicly.)

Any ideas about where I might get such assistance?

thanks.

It would help if you’d provide a bit more detail. Is the complaint primarily about the psychologist’s ethical behavior? Criminal acts? Economic malfeasance?

Do you have a current psychologist?

No, I don’t, and the complaint has to do with a variety of things which taken together add up to unethical (possibly illegal) behavior, bad judgment, and very likely harm to her patients.

If I can assume you mean Los Angeles by your location entry, these guys might be able to help.

From site:

“The California Board of Psychology protects the health, safety and welfare of consumers of psychological services.”

They might be able to tell you whether you have a valid complaint.

If you’re not in California (I’m not from the US and have only vague ideas how your place-nicknaming systems work  ) then I’d assume your state has a similar board or ombudsman who can help you.

Why not post the info here? I’m constantly pleased by how well people on this board rise to the occasion. I’m sure there are some people who could give you some useful feedback. Also, I’ve found that it helps me to clarify my thoughts to throw out some of my greater problems here for discussionbefore acting.

GL whether you take my suggestion or not.
