Help with Quiz

Hi

I have put together a quiz for my family, loosely based on the ‘puzzle at the end of this book’

Its 6 pages long with 10 hidden key words to find

I would appreciate any feedback, hint link similar types and see what you have

All I’m getting from your links is an image that says “Please update your account to enable 3rd party hosting.”

Damn Photobucket!

Try these

Not too familiar with these sorts of puzzles (as the video says, more of a UK thing) but watching the video clued me in. Didn’t get too far though:
Right off the bat I see the answer key has 10 spots, but I only found 9 sets (red, green, purple, italic, underline, small caps, cursive, pictures, quotes).

And so far the clues I think I’ve got are GOLF (reds), TANGO (green), VICTOR (italics), UNIFORM (small caps), CHARLIES (pictures), OSCAR (quotes).

The underlined ones give me protactinium and ‘twice dads’. Maybe the cursive ones is WHISKY?

Okay, so looking at the answers I had, obviously the NATO phonetic alphabet. So that helps me adjust the ones I wasn’t sure on spelling (whisky/whiskey) or plurals (oscar/oscars, charlie/charlies, etc.) Since one of them is PAPA, and Protactinium is Pa, then that’s PAPA. Still no idea what most of purple means, but there’s only one ‘month’, so I’ll assume it’s NOVEMBER. Slotting them in alphabetically means the last clue has to be ROMEO since it’s five letters and has to be between PAPA and TANGO.

But, got stuck there. Doing the numbers in order gave me a five digit number, following order of operations gave me a three digit one. Not sure what to make of the 1 and 5 in the boxes.
All correct, whiskey and papa
Protactinium is chemical symbol Pa, twice papa, dad’s

There is a small QR code first page which leads to romeo (Beckham)
The 1 and 5 should lead to scrabble values

There is also a hashtag on the answer page which could help

Ah wasn’t sure what to make of the twitter hashtag, I don’t use twitter so didn’t bother looking it up, and thought it might just be used by you privately for your family to do the quiz.

End result:

8930?

Perfect!

Well done

Overall it was fun. Definitely a lot easier than the linked video one, which I think is a good thing… I don’t think I’d ever figure out stuff like “look for phrases that have Pokemon hidden in them, then line those up with the names of the Muppets and find the similar letters.” The actual text of your ‘book’ feels more random (as with the pictures) but that’s fine. You do a yearly puzzle among your family or something?

Yeah we usually do a standard quiz but its by turn to write one so I thought Id do something a bit different
The final code is a combination to a padlock with has a small gift for all participants inside.

thanks for the feedback!
Going forward any ideas of other subject matter that I could do a similar quiz on?
I was thinking something like NFL team names?
